A newsletter for your centers of influence (COIs) is not the same as the one you send your clients. It draws on the same content, but it is written for a different reader with a different goal. Your client newsletter educates the people in your niche. A COI newsletter shares that same content with the professionals who can refer them, led by a short note that tells the COI why the piece matters to their clients. Here is how to build one.
Start With the Goal, Because It Is Different
Your niche newsletter is written to educate and nurture the people you want as clients. A COI newsletter has a different job: to keep you visible to referral partners and show them, issue by issue, the kind of client you help. The reader is a fellow professional, an accountant or an attorney, not a prospect, so how you frame the content shifts to match.
Reuse the Expertise, Not the Format
You do not need to write new content. The article you already featured in your client newsletter, or a post from your blog, is the raw material. What you add is a short note that frames that piece for a COI.
Lead With an Intro Note About the Article
Put a short intro note at the top, above the article. Introduce the specific article in that issue, pull out a few key takeaways as bullets so the COI can see the value at a glance, and say why it is relevant to the clients they serve. Keep the note about the article itself, not about the newsletter as a whole. Skip any "welcome to my newsletter" framing and get straight to what this piece covers and who it helps. Then let the article follow.
Close the issue with a simple line offering to be a resource and an easy way for the COI to reach you when a client fits.

Set a Regular Rhythm
Match the COI newsletter to the pace of your niche newsletter, and keep it at least monthly. Two approaches work well:
Send it each time. Every time your niche newsletter goes out, send a COI version, leading that issue's article with a fresh intro note.
Or summarize monthly. If you want to send less often, bundle the month's articles into one monthly roundup with a short note on each.
Do not go less often than monthly, since monthly is the floor for staying top of mind. Send it to the COIs in your niche, and if you keep a list under the Influencers tab in the OnNiche® app, that is your send list.
The Bottom Line
A COI newsletter uses the same niche content as your client newsletter, but leads with a short note written for a referral partner: here is the article, and here is why it matters to your clients. Keep the note about the piece, not the newsletter, and give the COI an easy way to connect when someone fits.
