FINNY is an AI-driven prospecting and marketing platform for financial advisors, which it describes as an "AI growth officer." The idea is to automate the top of your marketing funnel: finding prospects, creating messages, and running outreach campaigns, with the goal of booking meetings on your calendar.
What It Does
FINNY scans millions of households for "money in motion" signals, such as a new home, a job change, an inheritance, or a retirement, and ranks each prospect with a score it calls the F-Score, meant to reflect how likely they are to convert. It then drafts personalized outreach and content in your voice, runs campaigns across channels, and handles the follow-ups, notifying you when a meeting is booked. You can approve each campaign before it sends or let it run on its own.
Why We Do Not Recommend It
Our hesitation is twofold. First, FINNY is built on cold outreach, which is always harder than people make it out to be, and we expect it to get harder still. As more firms adopt AI-driven outreach, the whole premise, automated personalized messages at scale, loses its edge and prospects grow numb to it. Second, the pricing. FINNY charges a percentage of assets on the clients it sources for you, for as long as those clients stay with you, rather than a subscription or flat fee.
We almost never recommend marketing that charges basis points or a revenue share on the life of a client. Over time, it becomes the most expensive marketing you can do. A single client can cost you tens of thousands of dollars over the years you serve them, far more than acquiring that same client through other channels.
Our Take
For most firms, we do not recommend FINNY, both because it relies on cold outreach and because of the pricing model. The one exception is if you are just starting out, have plenty of time to master FINNY, and do not have much of a marketing budget. In that case, it can be a way to jumpstart your entry into a niche, but it is not something we recommend long term.
If you want a system that automatically puts appointments on your calendar, consider flat-fee alternatives like Alynd Financial.
If you are weighing FINNY anyway, do the math on the lifetime cost of a client before you sign, and come talk to us at Office Hours so we can look at it against less expensive, more effective channels that may serve you better.
